The Twenty Five Moves From Plan to Proven

First Flight of Full-scale Seaglider Advances Plans For a Luxury Coastal Travel Network of Up to 60 Vessels

September 2, 2026 - Stamford, CT -The Twenty Five, operator behind a planned private membership experience for luxury coastal travel, moved a critical step closer to commercial service this week as its Seaglider partner, REGENT, completed the first flight of its full-scale Viceroy Seaglider. The flight took place on September 2 at REGENT’s headquarters on Narragansett Bay, Rhode Island. With two captains aboard, the Seaglider flew for 30 seconds, traveling 1,956 feet (596 meters) at a height of 33 feet (10 meters) above the water.

The company has an agreement for up to 60 all-electric Viceroy Seagliders, which will form the foundation of its network. Initial deliveries are anticipated as early as late 2027.

For The Twenty Five, the flight arrives alongside another development that supports its timeline: REGENT’s recently announced $240 million in Series B financing to support its transition into Seaglider production. One demonstrates the capability of the vessel, while the other supports the manufacturing capacity needed to build the fleet on which its network will depend.

“What happened in Rhode Island this week changes the conversation entirely,” said Neill Etheridge, co-founder of The Twenty Five. “We are no longer asking people to imagine how this technology could transform coastal travel. They can now see the full-scale vessel move from float to foil to fly. For our team, our partners and the prospective members following our progress, this is powerful confirmation that the network we are building is moving closer to operation.”

A journey with The Twenty Five will begin at a traditional dock, with the Seaglider moving through the marina on its hull before rising onto hydrofoils and transitioning into fly mode within one wingspan of the water’s surface. Designed to carry 12 passengers and two crew, the Seaglider is expected to travel at speeds of up to 180 mph across distances of up to 180 miles. The vessel is completely electric, with no environmental footprint.

The Twenty Five is building more than a transportation service. Its model is designed around continuity of lifestyle and experience, reducing the hours traditionally lost to congestion, terminals and fragmented transfers while creating more seamless movement between destinations.

For members, each journey will begin directly at the waterfront and be considered from departure through arrival. Onboard, the cabin will offer full-height ceilings and expansive windows, paired with refined interiors. Service will follow a white-glove standard designed to make the journey as rewarding as the destination.

The Twenty Five will also introduce a dedicated concierge service to coordinate each stage of the member experience. Additional service enhancements and partnerships will be announced in the coming months.

“I have imagined this moment many times, but watching the full-scale Seaglider rise above the water was extraordinary,” said Jamie Petty, co-founder of The Twenty Five. “It made clear what this technology can unlock. Places separated by traffic, terminals and hours of travel can become directly connected. This is not simply a faster vessel. It is a new kind of freedom, and the foundation of the experience we are creating for our members.”

That promise is reflected in the company’s name. The Twenty Five refers to the “twenty-fifth hour,” the time members can reclaim by making coastal travel faster, easier and more enjoyable. The aim is to turn hours once lost in transit into time spent on the people, places and experiences that matter most.

Initial routes under development include New York City to the Hamptons, Boston to Nantucket and Miami to Palm Beach, amongst others. Hornblower Group, The Twenty Five’s exclusive maritime operating partner, will support vessel operations, safety, crewing, regulatory execution and waterfront infrastructure as the network develops. ELM Microgrid, a leader in advanced battery energy storge systems, will power the clean energy infrastructure.

The membership waitlist for The Twenty Five is now open. Prospective members can join at www.thetwentyfive.com to follow the company’s progress and receive early visibility into planned routes, future experiences, and membership access.
